The Three Towers
Guaita, the First Tower, the oldest of the three. Cesta, the Second Tower, on the highest spur at 755 m, with the Museum of Ancient Weapons. Montale, the Third Tower, the smallest, pentagonal, with an 8 m deep prison.
The historic centre
Palazzo Pubblico (1884–1894, Francesco Azzurri), seat of the Captains Regent, on Piazza della Libertà. Basilica del Santo by Antonio Serra, begun in 1826. Guided tours of the old town.
